Aquawrap® is a low cost composite system for use in repair and reinforcement of existing mechanical systems, structures and piping. Furnished factory-impregnated with our proprietary urethane resin systems, it is odorless and non-flammable. Aquawrap® is ready to apply, right out of the bag and cures by way of a chemical reaction with field-applied water. When cured, it is a very durable, high strength material that is impervious to fuels, most chemicals and solvents. It permanently bonds to a wide variety of surfaces such as metals, composites, concrete, plastics, and wood.

Aquawrap® is available in a several E-glass and carbon fabrics to satisfy a wide variety of application situations. The unique urethane resin system has excellent long term strength characteristics and toughness. It has been tested to and meets the requirements of the ASME PCC-2 composite piping reinforcement standard.

Furnished resin-wetted and uncured, in rolls, (see photo, below) Aquawrap® ships to the field inside hermetically sealed metallized pouches. To use the product, you just tear open the pouch and start wrapping or laying up onto the surface to be repaired or encapsulated. Initial hardening happens in about an hour, with substantial strength increasing over the next few hour.

AquaWrap Installation Procedure

Step 1
Clean or abrade the pipeline or structure using sand blast, wire brush to remove any pipe coating or debris. Make sure area of repair is free of dust.
Step 2
Fill in all voids with two-part epoxy to seal anomaly from corrosive environment. Filler will setup in 5-7 minutes.
Step 3
Apply two-part epoxy primer over filler and entire surface being wrapped. This primer, like the epoxy filler, will not allow moisture to penetrate the pipe.
Step 4
Remove Aquawrap® from package and begin wrapping it around the pipe. No mixing of Cloth Required. Spray water on wrap while wrapping it around the pipe.
Step 5
Wrap Circumferentially, Spiral down the pipe or overlay as much as you want as No butting of ends required. Aquawrap® will cure as one solid layer without any crevices in 45 minutes.
Step 6
Apply 3 layers of Blue Stricture Wrap over Aquawrap® immediately.


Step 7
Using the perforator, perforate the blue stricter lineally down the pipe. Make the perforations about every 2-3 inches which should be sufficient for the curing process.
Step 8
Allow Aquawrap® 45 minutes to cure before removing Blue Stricture Wrap. Water & CO2 are being released as the Aquawrap® cures.

Step 9
When Wrap is dry, remove the blue stricter wrap and apply coating to transition back to existing coating not blasted or brushed.
